What Debts are Erased in an Ohio Bankruptcy
Most of your debts will be erased when you are discharged from bankruptcy.
There are some major exemptions from this rule (ie these debts WILL NOT be wiped out):
Child Support and/or Alimony payments, DUI Judgments or other criminal judgments imposed by the courts, Debts you accidentally forgot to list on your bankruptcy papers (so make sure to file the papers properly!), student loan debts and any IRS income taxs owed.
You will also have to pay your bankruptcy lawyer fees which can range anywhere up to $1,000 to $2,000
It may be possible to pay the filing fees in installments, or they could even be wiped out entirely. You will still always have to pay for your lawyer fees.
